Our family moved last month from the southern middle of the country to Norcal, but I feel like it’s really more… “CenCal”…I suppose that doesn’t sound as cool, though.

We spent August going west with our RV and our kids and our sanity! We almost lost the last one a few times, haha. We are here and settled. Loving our new neighborhood. Lots of adventures for our oldest with his newfound pack of tween friends.

I started a new job..what? I began teaching for VIPKID as an ESL teacher. I am putting my education to work..which is an awesome feeling to be able to contribute.  The hours kind of suck because it’s on Chinese time, but man those kids are cute. I just need better sleeping habits! I’m such a night owl..

FOUR IN THE MORNING
Wislawa Szymborska
The hour from night to day.
The hour from side to side.
The hour for those past thirty.
The hour swept clean to the crowing of cocks.
The hour when earth betrays us.
The hour when wind blows from extinguished stars.
The hour of and-what-if-nothing-remains-after-us.
The hollow hour.
Blank, empty.
The very pit of all other hours.
No one feels good at four in the morning.
If ants feel good at four in the morning
–three cheers for the ants. And let five o’clock come
if we’re to go on living.
Translated by Magus J. Krynski and Robert A. Maguire

::insert ramble:: I’m making some petite, healthy money, now that I have regular students. A following was hard to establish during our move because I wasn’t teaching. So I feel like I am behind where I would be. I’m tucking it away for a rainy day, things we need to buy and –yess–didn’t forget about you–medschool? I don’t talk about it much anymore in my real life because…honestly..how much do I care about someone else’s 12 year plan? haha..  Other than an, “oh neat.” Really, what is the benefit of discussing it? I’m vague if the topic comes up. I say I am interested in pursuing something in medicine. But it is still my plan! I’m going to do the online ESL thing for a bit and see how much I can save away doing that and go from there. I will probably end up upgrading my camera equipment and getting back into photography doing weddings. That’s where the money is in photography. Between teaching and photography, I honestly do think I could save up the money I need to put myself through school in 12 years or pay for my kids to go to school while I use the GI Bill in order to get in state tuition, if that is possible. I looked that up a few months ago….Then I moved. I think I lost that bit of knowledge while keeping my kids from getting too close to the edge of the Grand Canyon. 😉 Like it just fell out of my brain and tumbled down the side.

In other news, I need to lose weight. I’m thinking about the KETO way of eating. Would love to know if anyone has insight about that. 🙂 IF anyone reads this!

P.S. I get like $50 to $80 if someone gets hired on as a teacher with VIPKID through my referral link. It’s a bit of an interview gauntlet! I forgot I had so much personality!
